4 Lives, 4 Secret Fantasies, 11 International Awards and 6 Gutsy women will bring Lipstick Under My Burkha to a theatre near you!

While Bollywood trailer launches are all about radical numbers, be it collection or the screens, there are trailer launches like Lipstick Under My Burkha that stun you, that make you think and that make you want to be a part of a change. A change in perception, a change in the definition of morality, a change in who decides who sees what, a change for the world to see.

The trailer launch of The Most Controversial Film of The Year, The Film They Did Not Want You To See, Lipstick Under My Burkha took place on Tuesday, 27th Jan. Present at the event were Producer Ekta Kapoor, Director Alankrita Shrivastava and lead star cast Ratna Pathak Shah, Konkana Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur. The film has also been produced by Prakash Jha who was not present but gave an endearing video message to all.

Speaking about the film and the trailer, Ekta Kapoor said that, "When I saw this film for the first time, it was staring in my face saying do you have the guts to take it on. This film stirred me as a woman as it asked me a valid question. The only answer was to take it on and do full justice to it." On the poster of the film that went viral a few days ago, Ekta said that, "This lipstick, this ungli is at the society who is asking us to repress our voice. It's not about CBFC or men. It's an ideology. There are lots of women who put their daughter in laws though abortions just to get a boy. It's an ideology. We are not being able to discriminate between sexual intentions and sexual crime. Morality is a personal issue. it is not at one point exploitative, the film. It speaks as it is and it stares at you in the eye. This is a film that is very close to my heart and I will do whatever it takes to make it big!

Director Alankrita Shrivastava added that, "I cant believe this is happening. I am so glad that Ekta came on board. We know that now we coming out with a lot of strength. After battling so much, I would have hated to come out with a struggle to release. This film deserves a wider audiences and I am very happy that now there is a way to get those wider audiences. The primary emotion for me right now is that I am really excited as it's been a long journey to get it out. I can't wait for people to watch it."

Ratna Pathak Shah made some applause worthy statements on patriarchy and said that, "I grew up in a generation where we had to fight but my mother gave me the freedom in life that nobody else got. I stand on their shoulders of my mother and grandmother. And now I can't give that same support to my daughter because of society. In one generation, we have given up all these advantages and are moving backwards. We all have to accept that we have a role to play as men and women. It's about patriarchy. Sex is a small part of this film, important but not big. There are a lot of other issues. The controversy says that its a dirty picture. In fact who comes for this movie looking at it like that, will be highly disappointed."

Konkana Sen Sharma added that, "I think that a lot of us take for granted the kinds of struggles that women have gone through in the last 100 years. We don't know how much progress we have made in the last 100 years. This film stands by what it says and speaks very honestly about women and their inner lives. I believe that the youth will respond to the authenticity and integrity that the film follows."

Aahana Kumra said that, "We've just been doing so many things behind closed doors and nobody talks about it. As the ban came on the film, we realised that as women we don't have the same rights that men do. Not only in India but across the world you think they are progressive but no, India is not alone in this battle. It's very important for women to own their sexuality and be out there cause they deserve it."

Plabita Borthakur said that, "Actually I have never thought that the response would be like this. I first saw it at the Tokyo International Film Festival and we got a standing ovation and women loved it and some even came for a second screening. Then we come to India and the whole censorship thing happened and that saddened me. But then the way everyone supported us it was amazing and we all thought we had to get this film out there for everyone! I am glad that the time is finally here for India to watch it."

As director Alankrita says, Lipstick Under My Burkha is about 4 women fighting for their rights. Support the rebellion movement and watch it on July 21st at a cinema near you.

From the studio that presented LSD, The Dirty Picture and Udta Punjab, Ekta Kapoor's Alt Entertainment now presents LUMB, A Prakash Jha Productions Film. Produced by Prakash Jha, Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, Lipstick Under My Burkha will release on July 21, 2017

Big thumbs up for Arjun Rampal's Daddy trailer. 10 million views and counting on YouTube

Bollywood's obsession with the underworld and the gangster genre isn't new. There have been several films in the past that have spun thrillers surrounding the lives of kingpins and dons. However, one film that is currently making the right noise in the genre is Arjun Rampal's Daddy. What makes Daddy different from any other gangster film is the fact that it is an accurate depiction of the life of one of India's most elusive mafia head. The trailer of Arjun's Daddy has got unanimous love and acclaim not just from industry experts but also the public. In a time when it has been raining trailers, Daddy has stood its ground and got unconditional love and appreciation from the critics as well as the common man. Both the teaser and trailer of the film has clicked over 10 million views and counting.Bollywood's obsession with the underworld and the gangster genre isn't new. What works in Daddy's favour is the amount of intense effort Arjun has made to study Gawli and look and feel like the real man. In a time where prosthetics and make up substitute the real feel, Arjun has managed to get beneath the skin of this character with so many grey shades and emerged triumphant in playing him with utmost honesty. The fact that Gawli's real life has so much drama and is unlike any other gangster we have known has helped Daddy become such a hot property. For those unaware of the history, Gawli never ran from the police, neither did he evade arrest, the decisions he made and life he chose to live made him an instant hero of the masses despite the clouds of crime and murder hanging heavy over his head.

The film was launched at the Google headquarters which was the first for any film and ever since then social media has been buzzing with praise for the film. The gangster who never ran from the police, this catchphrase is enough to raise curiosity levels among the audience to visit theatres and catch the movie

Auckland: 30 minutes to contrasting worlds

Auckland's dramatic coastal scenery is only the beginning of the contrasting landscapes found within short distance of the city's downtown business centre.

Auckland's dramatic coastal scenery is only the beginning of the contrasting landscapes found within short distance of the city's downtown business centre.
North Shore
Auckland's North Shore is a quick drive over the harbour bridge, or a short ferry trip across the water from downtown Auckland.
Known as 'lifestyle city', North Shore City has more than 20 pohutukawa-lined sandy beaches with views of volcanic Rangitoto Island. The beaches stretch north along the east coast from the historic seaside village of Devonport which looks back on the city.

The mix of parks, reserves and native bush alongside boutique shops, markets, cafes and galleries contribute to the North Shore's laidback lifestyle, while the many restaurants, bars and venues such as the Bruce Mason Centre always offer something to do.

Matakana Coast
Further north, the sprawling cityscape evolves into the rural green countryside of Rodney District and Matakana Coast wine country, which lie between the twin coasts.
The Matakana region has developed into a food and wine mecca, with a lively Saturday farmers' market showcasing the locally-grown produce and delicacies.
Goat Island Marine Reserve, the first marine reserve established in New Zealand, offers the chance to experience the region's abundant marine life.
Kawau Island was home to New Zealand's first governor general. His historic property, known as Mansion House, was extensively restored to its former appearance in 1977–80 after many years of varied ownership and neglect. Mansion House is open to visitors September through May. Kawau Kat cruises run daily trips to the island, including the Royal mail run cruise, the largest mail run by water in the Southern Hemisphere

West Auckland
Auckland's west is famous for its lush rainforests, rugged black sand beaches and rolling green rural landscapes.
The Waitakere Ranges rainforest covers 16,000ha and has more than 240km of walking trails through native trees to waterfalls and beaches.

A warm coastal climate provides ideal wine growing conditions for some of New Zealand's oldest wineries, including Kumeu River, Soljans Estate and Nobilo.
Muriwai - a vast black sand beach - has one of New Zealand's largest onshore gannet colonies. Piha, south of Muriwai, is a popular surf beach and community.
Hauraki Gulf islands
The Hauraki Gulf's more than 50 islands are accessible by boat, plane or helicopter.
Iconic Rangitoto Island - the youngest of Auckland's volcanoes and the dominating landmark in Auckland's harbour - has fascinating geology and one of the world's largest pohutukawa forests. The island can be explored by foot, on a guided 4WD journey or by helicopter.
North of Rangitoto, sits the world-class conservation park of Tiritiri Matangi island - home to more than three million native trees and many endangered birds.
Waiheke Island
Waiheke Island offers a picturesque blend of farmland, forest, beaches, vineyards and olive groves.
Waiheke's hot, dry summers and stony soils provide ideal wine growing conditions. Some of New Zealand's best red wines come from Waiheke, including the Stonyridge Larose - in the world's top 20 cabernet blends.
The island has a resident community, including many artists, and guided food, wine and art tours are available. Visitor accommodation choices range from simple seaside cottages to five-star luxury accommodation such as Delamore Lodge or the Boatshed.
Great Barrier Island
Further north, Great Barrier Island has a spectacular, untouched beauty that appeals to adventurers and eco-tourists.
Waiheke's beautiful beaches, vineyards, festivals and a vibrant artistic community are just a 35-minute ferry cruise away from downtown Auckland. The Fullers Ferry runs regular half-hour sailings from Viaduct Harbour to Matiatia Wharf, Waiheke.

Over 70 percent of Great Barrier island is under the Department of Conservation (DOC). Glenfern Sanctuary offers native wildlife tours and Earthsong Lodge offers a luxurious eco- retreat in native forest surrounded by panoramic ocean views.
Manukau City
Manukau City - south of Auckland city - is surrounded by a varied rural landscape of forests, lakes, gently rolling farmland and 300km of picturesque coastline.
Manukau has a rich cultural heritage and is one of the most diverse population centres in the country, with more than 165 ethnic groups. The city's colourful multi-cultural traditions come together on Saturday's at Otara Markets with authentic music, food, and original arts and crafts.
Cultural and natural historic treasures include Mangere Mountain and Otuataua Stonefields Historic Reserve. Created by volcanic eruptions 20,000 years ago, the reserve is an insight into how people once lived and worked on Auckland's volcanic landscape.

Wine lovers can sample some of New Zealand's award-winning wines at Villa Maria Estate, or head to Clevedon's boutique wineries and farmers' market.

Marc McArthur Cruises Through to the Global Final of the World’s Biggest Bartender Competition

The global final of the world's biggest bartender competition is fast approaching and last night at a prestigious semi-final event in Miami, Marc McArthur of Norwegian Cruise Line captivated a judging panel of leading industry experts to be crowned the best cruise line bartender in the world.
The next dock for Marc, 28, from South Africa, is the global final of one of the leading and most respected bartender competitions in the world - WORLD CLASS Bartender of the Year in Mexico City on 20th - 24th August 2017. Here he will represent cruise lines and battle it out against 56 of the world's best bartenders for the coveted 'WORLD CLASS Bartender of the Year' title.

Last year's winner, Jennifer Le Nechet from France has experienced a life-changing journey and now enjoys travelling the world, judging the finals of top bartender competitions. Jennifer was part of last night's judging panel and witnessed Marc's talent and originality.

Marc saw off competition from talented cruise line bartenders from three of the world's top cruise lines during a series of heats, before the final three contenders mixed it up in the deluxe Diageo 396 Bar in Miami last night.
Jennifer Le Nechet judged the proceedings along with fellow industry elites; Enrique De Colsa, Master Distiller of TEQUILA DON JULIO and Ben Potts, one of Miami's finest bartenders.
It wasn't just down to taste; the judges observed the semi-finalists' creativity, knowledge, showmanship and the overall delivered drinking experience. Marc fascinated the judges throughout the 'Mystery Box Challenge' and 'Cocktails Against the Clock Challenge', mixing up unique cocktails with outstanding product from the DIAGEO RESERVE collection.

Marc McArthur, Head Mixologist on board Norwegian Escape, said: "I can't put into words how much this achievement means to me. I've invested a lot of training and dedication into this competition, just making it through to the semi-finals was incredible, but to be judged by last year's winner and succeed to go on to represent the cruise industry in the global final of the WORLD CLASS Bartender of the Year, it's without doubt the highlight of my career.  I can't wait to compete with the best and bring the confidence and skills I've developed through the WORLD CLASS program to Mexico City."

Marcos Bibas, Commercial Director, DIAGEO Americas said: "The WORLD CLASS program is devised to educate and inspire bartenders to deliver outstanding drinking experiences, and I'm delighted we can offer this experience to cruise line bartenders on board our partners' ships. Last night we witnessed a thrilling competition showcasing a remarkable standard of craftsmanship and creativity. We want to congratulate all of our finalists and wish Marc the very best of luck at the WORLD CLASS Global Final in August."

Wes Cort, Senior Director, Restaurant and Beverage Development & Operations at Norwegian Cruise Line, said: "We're so pleased for Marc and his achievement. We wish him the best of luck in the WORLD CLASS Final and are confident his craftsmanship and talent will impress the judges once more. We'd like to extend our sincerest gratitude to WORLD CLASS for putting on such a thrilling event and for training our bartenders in the art and science of creating moment-defining cocktails, using award-winning spirits from the DIAGEO RESERVE collection.
