Ace saree designer Vidhi Singhania's penchant for classy wearable sarees is well-known amongst lovers of the 'six-yard' style. She is all set to flag off Year 2020 with a collection that's inspired by the city of Mumbai. Woven together with her signature dori work are the tinsel town glamour, the serenity of the Queen's necklace and other aspects of the city. All quintessential things that define Mumbai have been transformed onto the canvas of a saree, making each creation a shining example of sartorial sophistication.

Come witness the heritage and beauty of ethnic wear at an exhibition by Vidhi Singhania at the Trident Oberoi Hotel, Nariman Point Mumbai on Friday, January 24th a gorgeous confluence of style. Get an exclusive preview of the collection on January 23rd, Thursday.

A saree in itself is an elegant attire. However, Vidhi's designs and her commitment toward Indian artisans make her creations look like works of art. Her Mumbai-inspired collection includes light and breezy Kotas with dori work and pearl embellishments that add to her new appliqué line. Vidhi adds a Benarsi flavour to her sarees with the use of new motifs such as woven bamboos, rambling roses on satin, paisley butas and embossed designs. Each of these motifs contributes to reviving the old legacies of Varanasi. The collection also features Vidhi's trademark elements that include mesmerising geometrical jaals, the eternal guthwa flowers and her luxurious molten tissues. Apart from sarees, her collection includes exquisite blouses, traditional batuas and breathtaking ensembles.

For Vidhi, a saree is something that effortlessly amps up a lady's style. Even a board room meeting attire becomes a fashion statement! That's why each of her creation sports a contemporary design, with roots going deep into the traditional arts and crafts culture of India. Vidhi's designs stand for cruelty-free sustainable fashion. She has been instrumental in establishing not only the saree but Indian artistry, too, at the forefront of contemporary fashion.
