Bengali superstar Jeet has been ruling the roost in Bengali cinema for close to two decades now and after hit films like Saathi,  Nater Guru, Sangee, Bandhan , Yuddho, Jor, Wanted, Dui Prithibi, Nater Guru,  Boss: Born to Rule,  The Royal Bengal Tiger, Bachchan and Badsha The Don the actor is all set to bring audiences a high-octane, high-energy action entertainer ‘Chengiz’.

Apart from being a game-changer of its time and being a turning point in the history of Bengali cinema by being the first Bengali film to simultaneously release in Bengali and Hindi, the film is also the superstar’s first to revolve around the underworld.

While Jeet has often starred in romantic dramas, comedies, thrillers and action films through the course of his career, ‘Chengiz’ showcases him in a completely different light and in a new genre, giving fans much reason to be excited about. The film revolves around the underworld fabric of Calcutta from the 70’s to the mid-90’s and captures the journey of Jeet’s character ‘Chengiz’, an underworld kingpin who ruled the streets.

Apart from taking on some adrenaline-pumping action with intense fight sequences and mouthing some whistle-worthy dialogues, the actor is seen in a deadly yet stylish avatar as a mafia lord living in a lethal world in this mass entertainer.

Says Bengali superstar Jeet, “It was really exciting to step into Chengiz’s world which is very unlike anything I’ve attempted before. He is ruthless; he is lethal and takes audiences through the underworld arena, a first in my career this far.”

Produced by Jeet, Gopal Madnani and Amit Jumrani, ‘Chengiz’ has been directed by Rajesh Ganguly who has also worked on the dialogues and screenplay. Based on a story by Neeraj Pandey and Rajesh Ganguly, the film is set for an Eid release on the 21st April 2023.
