starer Guajarati cult film ‘Dhaad’ is set for release with English
subtitles.
Set in the rural areas of kutch,
gujarat, the story of dhaad is based on the life of ghelo, an impotent man and
his desperate search for water, his lost land, and a child.
At a recent press conference
in Mumbai Filmmaker Paresh Naik said
that only little work had remained when 2001 earthquake struck. “There were
funding problems as a result of which the film got delayed,” he said, adding
that then shemaroo stepped in.
Superb direction. Tight screenplay.
Mesmerizing music and background score. And above all best performance by K K Menon
and Nandita Das. Dhaad is a must watch film.
